Global health projections: by 2060, non-communicable diseases will account for more deaths than communicable diseases by a ratio of 5:1
According to a recently released study (published in the WHO Bulletin), non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are projected to continue their growth as a cause of global mortality. The study estimates that by 2060, NCDs will account for more deaths than communicable diseases by a ratio of at least 5:1.

The percentage of global deaths attributable to communicable diseases are projected to decline by close to 70% by 2060.
